Sometimes you want to pass all of the arguments to your own constructor to
the superclass constructor, and sometimes you don't. In fact, you may have
additional, or re-ordered parameters to your extended class, and you want
to pass only some of them, or need to pass them in a different order to the
superclass constructor. The implementation therefore has you always pass
'arguments', but uses that for context and expects you to explicitly pass
any additional arguments to the superclass that you desire to be passed.
This is by design, and a "good thing". :-)
