A while ago I read there is a datepicker in the works for Mobile.
Is it coming along, or should I roll my own solution for handling dates in
mobile?
My project has to be released in a few weeks.

there is a DateView Picker already in work.
We just have to migrate the q implementation to qx.Mobile.
I think you will find it soon in latest devel version.
