Hello everybody,
I would like to implement a kind of 'remote TextArea' (similar to remote table
model), which is used as a kind of Editor for large text files[*].
Now what I am not sure about is, what would be the best "base" to start from.
a) A TextArea where I try to react (asynchronously) on moving of the 'view
window'
b) A Virtual List, with a model that does the (asynchronous) data I/O.
With both I have some questions. For (a) I don't know how to get the events and
how to set the 'number of Rows' beforehand.
For (b) I have no idea how to implement the model asynchronous...
What I am thinking of is a kind of 'remoteTableModel' just for text-files ;)
BTW: I've tried using a remote table with cell-editors, but that was kind of
ugly, 'cause it does not behave like a normal TextArea when it comes to
keyboard handling (insert, enter, up/down, whatever...)
Thanks in advance for any hints and 'nice weekend' everybody,
Peter
