New question #235739 on qpdfview:

Hello!

One more feature that would make this pdf viewer perfect (in my opinion), would
be if I could choose the method of selecting the text in a document. For
example, if I wand to Copy a few rows in a pdf document, now I have to first
press Ctrl+C than use the mouse to select an area and then click on copy text.
This doesn't always work great, as sometimes I need to select more text, or
deselect a few words. In a different pdf viewer, I would simply use the mouse
cursor to select the text, and could also use SHIFT key on my keyboard to
select other rows, while also viewing the highlighted selected text.

This give a greater flexibility in selecting certain areas of text, just like
most (if not all) pdf readers do, including browsers as well. The classical way
of selecting text is using the mouse and selecting the area, while also making
use of keyboard to go back and forth on the selected area and this displays the
text with a different background (highlighted).

Is there a way this option could be added to qpdf? The current selection option
could still be used, but I would love to be able to switch to the classic (and
improved) way of selecting text?

Thanks!
