Question #250969 on qpdfview changed: https://answers.launchpad.net/qpdfview/+question/250969
Adam Reichold posted a new comment: Hello again, this is bad, MuPDF needs to be compiled as position independent code (PIC) so that it can be linked into a dynamically loaded shared object. Arch patches the MuPDF code for this issue specifically, seems like Debian doesn't do that (yet). This effectively prevents using MuPDF within a plug-in for another program, hence without building MuPDF and qpdfview from source, you can't currently use the plug-in on Debian- based systems. (Not sure how hard building MuPDF from source is as I've never tried this on Ubuntu, but you could probably use its Debian source package as a starting point if you really want to try this.) Sorry for the bad news.
