Adam Reichold proposed the following answer: Hello again, it seems like QMAKE_EXTENSION_SHLIB [1] is broken on Ubuntu 16.04. I just pushed trunk revision 2077 which tries to fix this up but keeps it automatic where a value is set. Please have another try with the daily debs when they are ready which should be in a few minutes...
