This week, infrastructure has clarified ASF policy
regarding releases. Please review

    http://www.apache.org/dev/release.html

and in particular the sections on "What is a release?"
and "Where can I find ASF releases?".

http://people.apache.org/dist/ is being phased out,
and will be removed on January 1, 2007. All existing
release files currently contained there need to be
relocated to http://www.apache.org/dist, and users
should be instructed to download those files through
the foundation's mirror system.

Nightly builds, and other build artifacts intended for
developers, should be moved to http://people.apache.org/builds/.
Infrastructure is considering setting up a builds.apache.org
vhost as a more permanent location for those. Should that
happen, infrastructure will notify you of the change,
and will move people.apache.org/builds/ to the new
location.

If you need assistance implementing this policy,
please contact [EMAIL PROTECTED] We will
be happy to help you.
