I checked the minutes today, and yes this is correct.

Martin's interpretation is correct, and the word "checkpoint" was even used in the discussion at the AMQP WG. There is no a guarantee of inclusion of the WIP in 0-10. The AMQP WG decision was rather of a vote of confidence in the direction taken. See the extract from the minutes below. Motion: ----------- "The Working Group vote to approve the progression of the Transport SIG proposal. The current 0.8 transport is not deprecated. The Transport SIG work will be incorporated into the next draft specification as a "Work In Progress" feature set, in the expectation it will be further enhanced and proved in an implementation." Motion passed 4 votes majority of the voting members. Transport is accepted as "Work in Progress" for publication in 0-9. ---------- There is a discussion of the process over on the AMQP-DEV list, so I won't go on too much. It is reasonable to assume that given proper management of the PMC and it's members concerns that the WIP can be in 0-10; but it is *not* a certainty. To behave as if it were would be to disrespect the process and the members of the AMQP community. Regards John
