- Ensure make distcheck passes cleanly.
- make dist
- manually unpack distro, build, run example code.
- Check the README, make sure doxygen URLs are valid.
- make install, verify you can run qpidd from /usr/sbin.
- publish tarball on apache website with M2 release.
