Before you merge - I wanted to add some more cases to perftest, but have
not yet as the
current case still has some issues we are working on. I think it will
look less and less like
topic test over time.
The other thing we should consider is maybe seeing if we can use the
Java perf test, however
the only limitation with that is I don't think the Java client will be
able to do IB, at least not
native IB, so we might be forced into keeping two perf tests.
I need to play with the Java one some more before I can form an opinion.

Related question: perftest & topictest are very similar. I'd like to
merge them into one, based on the perftest single-program model.
If there are features of topictest that aren't currently in perftest,
let me know so I don't drop anything important. The only one I can think
of is some extra configurability, which I will port over to perftest.
