Hi,
We are using the "POP before SMTP" solution and have been plagued with a
problem for some time. I wonder if any other users of "POP before SMTP"
have seen this problem. We are using this on a RedHat Linux box
with sendmail 8.9.3 and qpopper 3.0.2
POP befor SMTP works just fine, then all of a sudden, for no apparent
reason, it stops denying relaying for everyone. It almost seems as if the
makemap hash table gets "corrupted" somehow. For example, the "makemap
hash popper" command stops working, it just hangs. Rebooting the server
fixes it.
Anyone seen this problem? Does anyone know of any tools to debug the hash
table?
(PS: I realize that there are other solutions such as DRAC, and swithcing
to one of thise might resolve this problem but who knows what else will
break, I'd rather fix the known problem at hand. I also realize there are
other, newer versions of sendmail and qpopper, same comment. ;-).
best regards
Mike.
