Well!!!!

Even though keep-temp-drop is mentioned in the 3.0 files, it only seems to
work in 3.1b10. Is this right?

How do I enable KEEP_TEMP_DROP and CHECK_SHELL?

./configure --enable-keep..... etc doesn't seem to work.  Am I going along
the wrong track?
