Try the -T flag.
Quoting the "INSTALL" doc:
-T timeout You can change the compiled default for read
timeouts. This value causes qpopper to
terminate the connection with the client and
move the messages back to the user's maildrop
if no input is received in this many seconds.
The RFC states that this timeout should be 600
seconds (10 minutes). However, ideal settings
in many cases are between 30 and 120 seconds.
