freebsd install fails

has anyone successfully compiled qpopper4.0.3 on freebsd?  I get compile
errors of 

../common/libcommon.a(maillock.o): in function 'Qmaillock':
path/maillock.c(.text+0x1d6): warning: tempnam()possibly used unsafely;
consider using mkstemp()
