When it happens, I've only ever seen the first few lines of the mailbox get corrupted. Usually trimming down to the first "From x@y" does the trick. > 2. This is important for me in > finding stagnant accounts. ls -lu show a mail file's atime (last time read). This is more reliable than looking at temp files on systems where there are shells anyway. AB ls -lut /var/spool/mail | head -20 :-)
