Sounds like a firewall. RH7.2 started shipping with a default firewall designed for a workstation, so it's pretty tight. Make sure you open the POP ports you need. Also check tcp_wrappers. You may need to enable the service in /etc/hosts.allow. Just to see if this is the issue, totally disable the firewall and enable all addresses and all services in hosts.allow.
