Hello poppers!
I have problems downloading messages from my QPopper POP3 server when there
are
attachments in the messages. I have these errors in my /var/log/maillog:
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Apr 28 14:25:54 ms2 /usr/sbin/popper[13304]:
I/O error flushing output to client localaccount at someuser.telia.com
[xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx]:
Operation not permitted (1)

and

Apr 28 14:28:14 ms2 /usr/sbin/popper[13314]:
(null) at someuser.telia.com (xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx): -ERR POP EOF or I/O Error
Apr 28 14:28:14 ms2 /usr/sbin/popper[13314]:
(v4.0.3) Timing for @someuser.telia.com (error) auth=0 init=0 clean=0
------------------------------------------------------------------------

The line to the mailserver seems good:
ping ms2.spd.nu

The strange thing is that this problem ony occurs when there are attachments
in the messages.
I have googled and looked trough the mail-list archives and I cat find any
pointer to the problem :(
Im relative new to Linux as mailserver and do not know where to look for the
problem...
I have tried to change some timeout values in the email clients without luck
Also the "set chunky-writes = tls" directive...

Some information about the system:
OS: RedHat 7.2 with software RAID (EXT3)
MTA: Postfix 1.1.7 (Saving mail to /var/spool/mail/mail-file)
Qpopper version: 4.03 (RPM version)
E-mail clients: MS OutlookExpload & MS Outbreak2000 (I know these are not
good but everyone use them)
The local mail accounts are belonging to the group "popusers" and their
access to /var/spool/mail/mail-file are:
-rw-rw---- 1 local-account popusers 0 Apr 28 15:14 local-account

I have tried to install the latest version 4.04 but it complains about some
tempnam thing...
Can't fin any info about this either :(

Can someone please point me where to start to look?
A big thanks in advance, Pelle in Sweden
