Has anyone written a plugin to add message IDs to messages that lack them (such as those coming from some MUAs and automated notification scripts)? It might also help with SpamAssassin analysis, since SA seems not to care when a message ID is missing but does care if it's added by a host that's too late in the delivery chain.
I know many other MTAs add message IDs, but qmail doesn't. I don't know the philosophical or technical basis for that decision. If anyone has any words of wisdom to offer on that score, I'd appreciate it. Otherwise I'm going to write the plugin. -- Keith C. Ivey <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Washington, DC
