Yes, I like that. That also gives us DENYSOFTDROP, which is clear and not too long.

We are starting to bikeshed[1] a bit here, but DROP can be confused with "dropping the message without a bounce". DISCONNECT is still the better choice in my opinion.

How about CLOSE instead of DISCONNECT? CLOSE is still shorter, and means the same thing with regards to the connection.


Or better yet, how about FIN, as in DENYFIN, DENYSOFTFIN, SHARKFIN, DENYYOURFINSPAM? OK, got a little carried away. :)

But after all, aren't we sending a FIN packet?
