I have the same issue, specially after upgrading to the latest CVS version. I tried to follow frank's advice and removed /var/tmp and /tmp and also /home/smtpd/tmp from the updatedb.conf file, to make sure they are not pruned.
I also remember some other thread here in the newsgroup regarding permissions and also perhaps some line that should be corrected manually. Can someone please post instructions on how to fix this? or maybe make a section about this issue on the wiki http://qpsmtpd.nsa.co.il so we can all organize it and discuss it in a central location? Right now, my server is filling up with 2.5gb of junk every 3 hours which I currently clean up with a cron job... i would love to see this fixed so that I don't have to perform various tricks to keep the system working...
