The AV plugins don't need converting since they use system() so we can't do anything about that blocking. Though you may need to make sure you get rid of a lot of stuff BEFORE you run AV just to mitigate any hanging that may occur because of this.
I'd love to hear of a larger scale rollout of high_perf. We've been pretty happy with it so far (except for ip_conntrack tables filling up - if anyone knows why that is - I suspect it's to do with Danga::DNS - please let me know).
