Pre-connection hooks actually did work, but my logging/file_connection
plugin returned 0 instead of DECLINED which caused all other plugins to
be skipped.[0] Fixed in 0.31.1-2.

Post-connection hooks don't work. I thought I had included Hanno's
patch, but I haven't. And looking at it again, I think the
post-connection hook is called at the wrong position, so I'll postpone
this until I have time to look at this more closely.

[0] Simply falling off the end of plugin instead or returning DECLINED
    seems to be one of my favourite programming errors. Am I the only
    one or would it make sense to treat it as fatal plugin error if it
    returns a different value than expected?
