out of curiosity, why did you choose Danga::Socket over POE?
I have a lot of experience with POE, and it was just way too big and
slow for my application, and couldn't handle enough connections
(being select/poll based rather than epoll/kqueue based).
There is a POE SMTP framework if you're interested in that.
