Hi all! I was looking to enable SMTP AUTH on my box, and figured the ideal would be use PAM and CRAM-MD5. So, I found there is a simple PAM plugin and that auth_flat_file supports CRAM-MD5, so I was looking into marrying the two.
However, if I understood it correctly, the CRAM-MD5 hook needs to have the password in cleartext, and that there is no way to use an allready hashed password due to the ticket used in the challenge? So, it is simply not possible to use a password which is encrypted on the host with CRAM-MD5, or is there a workaround?
