No, they have nothing to do with each other.
I am asking because when we have a MDI interface with different file types, stylus and font color/types, a cursor for one of them may be "invisible" on the other.
It's easy enough to implement yourself by sub-classing the relevant lexers and reimplementing the readProperties() and writeProperties() methods.
