Cruickers,
Yep! Definitely early uni stuff. I assume though that you refer to
the Carnegie Mellon Alice. The name Alice seems to be popular for a
number of different programs.
In Semester 2 last year, I offered a Year 10 programming course that
could lead into 11 IPT. It was very popular. Instant gratification
works, OK!
Anyhow, I looked at CM Alice and shied away. Then I found
Storytelling Alice. It is intended for Year 9 and 10 I think, and for
girls. It went really well. You can either just let them use
discovery learning and develop all sorts of bad habits, or you can
teach them as they go along.
My advertising attracted two whole classes (damn!) so I was allocated
a business teacher to take the second class. So I was forced to write
tutorials. With them, the business teacher coped well.
Executive summary: You are welcome to my work plan and tutorials if
they would help.

Subject: [qsiteict] Alice Programming
Hi All,
There seems to be lots of Alice Programming material on the web, but
it's either too simple, too convoluted or too obtuse.
Doesn anyone have any coherent tutorials/materials for Alice
Thanks in advance
Cheers & Beers
Cruickers
