Mac OSX developers should download the Secrets preference panel:
http://code.google.com/p/blacktree-secrets/

It provides a GUI to turn on things like full file paths in Finder,
display hidden files, don't generate ds_store files etc etc.

I find OSX development almost impossible without it.
