I downloaded the .dmg file, mounted the disk image, copied QtCreator
to the Desktop and launched from there.

I opened "System Preferences"->"Language & Text". All the languages
were listed but nothing was selected if that really makes a
difference. I then selected the "Edit List" and deselected all the
languages except "English". Closed System Preferences and tried
launching again and now QtCreator Seems to run properly.

My user home directory was copied directly from a 10.6.8 system during
an upgrade from 10.6.8 to 10.8 so maybe that has something to do with
it. I'll try creating a fresh user and see what happens. (A few
minutes later). Creating a new user account and launching QtCreator
works just fine so it would seem there is something happening during a
migration from earlier OS X versions to OS X 10.8.

Hope that helps.

Now I can actually start using OS X 10.8 for development. Yeah!
