Hi Eric, "Edit Files..." is a feature of Generic Projects. If Qt Creator supports the build system you are using, then you are always better off to use the proper build system integration. This also solves the need to redo the file list when switching branches, as the build system files are checked into version control along with the sources.
If you are stuck with generic projects, then you are currently stuck with "Edit Files...". You might want to file a feature request at bugreports.qt.io, as those do not get lost as easily as mails in a mailing list.
