There are developers (including Qt developers) that work on macOS because Qt needs to be cross-platform. And due to that, Qt Creator should support debugging on Apple platforms, which means that we are stuck with using Python 2 to inter-operate with lldb on macOS, for now.

Which community are you talking about? Apple community? There's no such thing. At least not in the sense of "Open source" community. There is a "capitalistic" Apple community, people who wants to make money out of anything/nothing. But none of this "community" is willing to contribute anything. Python2 is dead and is being buried, for good. Apple has no control over it. They can decide to maintain their own python2 version if they wish, after all, that's what they've been doing with clang... Chris.
