Hi, the ClangFormat plugin needs a bit more direct access to ClangFormat's features, which is why it builds against the ClangFormat library and uses that directly. Unfortunatly that also means that you do not get a choice of the ClangFormat version.
The Beautifier plugin that supports various formatting tools also supports ClangFormat, and uses a configurable executable, but only "format on save" and manual formatting.
