Small update: as I mentioned, now the external gdb package on our FTP has the 
64 bit target now. This is however experimental and not officially supported.

Oh, sorry. I missed the 64 bit part.

Yes, it unfortunately looks like there is currently no python enabled gdb
targetting 64 bit MinGW.
