To stop the creator from crashing, go into the tortoiseXXX settings ->
icon overlays -> And click the "only show overlays in explorer"
setting to enabled.

I faced this problem before in kubuntu but I could fix it easily by
deleting user's preferences of Qt Creator but in Windows I don't know
exactly where I can find user's preferences of Qt Creator although I
tried to look for "Nokia;Troll" keywords in Windows searcher.
