I have appreciated it, when I've been learning another language, to have people
who gently correct my mistakes. So I will give you one small correction here.
Several emails from you I've seen lately have said "mayor" when I think you
meant to say "major." This is understandable, because the words are quite
related.
Major - adj., important
n., a rank in the military
Mayor - n., the governing official in charge of a city
also, in Spanish, this word means something very like "major" does in
English. :)
