> No, but it does mean you should really avoid being so snarky.

Maybe I should. Ok, most likely I should. But it is not always easy to avoid
it. I would never react in such a way because of a mere coding bug, however,
during several devdays in the last years the trolls had some very good sessions
regarding usability. So what makes me a bit 'snarky' is that it seems those
usability experts are either blind when it comes to qt-creator simply have
nothing to say.

So let me repeat it in a slightly less 'snarky' way: Automatic tooltips in the
edit area of an editor are a usability disaster. You focus an a certain
problem, your mouse moves a bit and enters involuntarily a hot spot...tooltip
opens...important information? Nope, just that you can get help on keyword
'foo' by pressing F1 or something unimportant like that. At least nothing one
would not know after a short time of qt-creator usage anyway. But line of
thought lost... Great design job.

Even worse is 'information' which opens unasked and covers exactly the line I
just wanted to read or even 'sneaks' under the exact location where I want to
type.

If you ask me (I know nobody does) all those features might be fine and useful
at times, but they should be optional. Is it so difficult to add a config
option that those helps appear only when a certain key combination is pressed,
e.g. alt-ctrl?

Would IM(H)O improve the creator tremendously.
