Hi,

I want full-blown applications that are wwritten once and run on any of
Symbian, WinCE, Maemo, Android.

Thanks,
Philippe

Hello again,

Hmm, who is they? Google?

I don't know much about these platforms, but I guess they have a kind of
framework
with it's own event loop etc. so fitting QtJambi into that is probably not
going to be
trivial.

Are you thinking about mixing QtJambi widgets into that framework (like Eskil
tried
with Swing once), or do you want to "take over" the whole "desktop" like I
suspect it's
done in Android Lighthouse?

        Hi,

I mean of doing a project in a totally new way, to have a Qt in pure
Java for J2ME and Blackberry.

The JNI is indeed available on Android. So I was wondering if they will
use Jambi code.

        Thanks,
        Philippe

        Hello again,

Well, to be able to get QtJambi running, you will have to natively
compile both
Qt and then it's JNI bindings towards that particular platform.

What is the relationship between a C++ compiler and
J2ME/Blackberry ports? I feel I am missing a big chunk...

                Thanks a lot,

                Hello!

Android: I think they use their own JRE, don't know if it has
JNI support towards native libs. Does Qt compile at all on this platform? Have
anybody tried it?

J2ME and Blackberry: Again: this depends upon the availability
of a c++ compiler willing to swallow Qt. Don't have any experience at all, but
maybe someone could look into it if T-Mobile would sponsor a project ;-)

                        Hi all,

From what I understand Qt-Java is Java bindings for Qt,
using the JNI to interface the native Qt.

Will the code be used for the Android port?

What about J2ME? The Qt Java port could be made to work
on a brand new backend, and the front and back-end would then be pure Java.
Anyone has looked into this? Any interest?

                        Anything for the Blackberry?

                        Thanks and
