Different applications ask for different kinds of updates from the 
positioning service.  If some other app is using network based 
positioning (low accuracy) and you're using satellite based positioning 
(high accuracy) then the last device wide update may not be useful for you.

There was a bug or two with Qt Mobility 1.0.2 related this.

That sounds like a recipe for trouble soup.  I'd strongly recommend 
compiling with the same Qt and Qt Mobility as you have installed on your 
device.
