Ah, I just got this now, and reading it as such my reaction is the same as before.
When I refer to "hard coding" I refer to fonts, colors and pixel sizes. I don't think that qualifies as making something sterile, just theme-able. The fonts and colors are user-specified, the pixel sizes (and font sizes) should be calculated to allow for different screen resolutions. Otherwise you have to redevelop your application for every screen aspect ratio... ----- Original Message ---- From: "[email protected]" <[email protected]> To: [email protected]; [email protected] Sent: Tue, July 13, 2010 3:10:35 AM Subject: RE: [Qt-qml] Fw: Why can't I stylesheet a font? > [flamebait] > I have a complete disdain for hardcoding anything in a UI. Then you're using the wrong tool. QML is intended to allow designers to do exactly that. If you want to replicate the 1980s world of UIs generated from data definitions and infinitely themable but sterile UIs, then you've missed the QML point entirely. -- Warwick _______________________________________________ Qt-qml mailing list [email protected] http://lists.trolltech.com/mailman/listinfo/qt-qml
