Probably because the window doesn't have and icon.
Run xprop and click on the window and check the output for icon.
Two is that whenever there's an error like an error that'd force an

bell, the tasklist turns red and I just would like to disable that

altogether as it shows the window as urgent even if its focused and
it's
just annoying.
I look like you can't disable it, but if you set urgent_border to the
same value as border, then they will have the same color and you wont
see it.
