puts more work into analyzing his games. ;0.
Jason, I have to disagree with you on this one, though. The numbers
should be easily available, good analysis lies in what people do
with those numbers. I once asked if you keep stats of your games
like avg score and bingo average, and you said such vague averages
were meaningless. Although I see the problems with looking at such
averages without deeper analysis, I don't think such numbers are
useless; I think some trends can be found in the numbers. For
example, I'll bet you $1 that your average score and bingo average
is higher than mine. :P.
I've analyzed enough of my own games to realize that how much equity
I lose per game is pretty random and seems to have more to do with
luck than with how well I played. How good were my tiles, did I
miss bingos I didn't know, did I lose a bunch of equity because I
kept missing the same hook or hot spot, etc. The best predictor of
how much equity I lose is how many blanks I had and how hard were
the bingos I had available to me and how many I missed. So
obviously, just looking at my equity loss per game is silly. But
again, I'll bet you a $1 my equity loss is more than yours. :).
So please, please, please, lean towards anything that makes
analyzing games easier, as that will lead to more analysis, which
can only be good. Obviously, some people will get lazy, but I
promise I won't. At least, not any lazier than I already am...
