I agree the sims are too slow.  I've been working on speeding up the
move generator.  I'm close to finished but haven't had the time to
finish.  It should yield ~2X in performance which will help somewhat
with sims though still more work should be done.

A post-mortem mode that skips that message and doesn't draw is
definately needed.  You can temporarily workaround the blank problem
by changing the opponents rack to remove the blank before playing.
