(Fear not, Quacklers. If I don't run out of questions and comments, I'll soon put them on hiatus until after the USSO. Meanwhile...)

In looking over a couple of games (using Quackle on Windows XP), I've encountered some minor problems:

1. I play a game. I go back to look at the first move. I double-click on it. I'm taken to that point in the game, but the game history window irritatingly scrolls itself down to the end of the game. (By the way, I agree with the point made earlier by John Hart that the move played should not appear on the board. Meantime, clicking anywhere on the board is a pretty quick fix.)

2. Back at that first move, I want to add a move of my own to the choices list. I type it in and hit Enter Move. So far, so good. But when I move on to the next move and then look back at the first move in the game history, it has changed to the move I added to the choices.

3. Back at the first play, ALMTTTY in this case, I wonder what would happen if I had three L's instead, so I reset the rack to ALLLMTY. Among the moves it generates is MALTY, but it shows the leave as TT. (Any play that wasn't already among the choices for ALMTTTY rack shows the correct leave.)

4. Moving further into the game, I find BU(R) B10 23 as a good option for me on two consecutive plays. Clicking on the first play, it shows my leave of CENUX. If I click on the next play and display choices, it gives BUR as a choice, but still shows my rack leave as CENUX, though my leave is now actually ACIN?. (Given the valuation, it clearly knows what my rack leave is, but is mis-displaying it.)

All the best,

Jim Kramer
