David,   Thanks for the suggestions.    I couldn’t find an upgrade on the web site, but I emailed their customer support people to see if they have any ideas.  We’ll see. . . . . The only thing that might be awry is that your Transmeta notebook does not have a mainstream processor. The processor in your notebook actually doesn't understand the same language that Intel and AMD processors do. Instead, Transmeta ships a program called the "code morpher" that translates Quackle (and everything else) into its own language. It's likely that something in Quackle is confusing the code morpher. Your first line of attack is to visit Transmeta's web site to see if you can upgrade the code morpher.
