I just downloaded Quackle (the Windows version) and would like to
create a custom dictionary to support a language other than English,
French, or Korean.

The .quackle_alphabet file format is just plain text, and with the
comment in the Korean alphabet file documenting the columns as "char,
blank, score, count, vowel", that looks pretty straight-forward for
creating my own.

But the .dawg and .gaddag file formats aren't plain text. I searched
this group for suggestions, but all I found was this message:

    http://games.groups.yahoo.com/group/quackle/message/40

It suggests using the makedawg program to compile a list of words. But
where can I get makedawg? All I've been able to find online is the
utility program that's bundled with EDSSpell:

    http://www.onedomain.com/Components/EDSSpell/

But that's not free. Is there some freely downloadable version?

Finally, it doesn't look like Quackle will automatically use new
.quackle_alphabet and .dawg files that appear in its directories. (I
just made copies of the English alphabet and dictionary with new file
names, and they didn't show up when I restarted Quackle.) This
implies that I will need to recompile it; will I need to modify any
source files to get it to find the newly created files?

Thanks,
Arthaey
