In a recent game I started with Quackle, Collins 07 lexicon, 20-seconds
player, my opening rack was AEELONT. I decided that OLE at 8h woulld be best,
and clicked for Choices. To my surprise it was not mentioned. I typed it in
and started the sim. Before sim started, OLE was half a point below the 10th
choice, but as soon as the sim started it quickly rose toward the top and
before long it was alternating with OE for the top spot. After over 1000
iterations (2-ply) OLE was slightly below OE, but I chose it to avoid a vowel
next to a DLS and was rewarded with a bingo on the next play.
Is this a result of the letter and leave values written into the
program? If so, perhaps somethijg could be done to make uackle more valuable
to players just beginning to learn the hgame.
