An opening rack recently led to some things I didn't understand. With
the Championship Player and theCollins lexicon, the rack was AERSTU?. I thot
of QUARTES and looked at the choices. QUARTES was not listed, so I added it
and simmed, and it quickly rose to the top. I understand about the valuation,
etc., but what I didn't understand was the preference for UpTEARS, which
alternated with QUARTES in a long sim that I did today. That other choice has
an E between 2 DLSs, while something like ESTUARy has much better placement of
vowels and consonants.
I also didn't understand why qUARTES did not do well when I switched
the dictionary to TWL06. an anyone explain this to me?
