Fascinating proposition, but I believe unless you can reduce your compute task to a linear algebra formulation, this is not going to do much for you.
Anyway I think if you've got a 2+GHz machine you're probably already past the point of diminishing returns. I tweaked Q0.96 to crunch positions for longer than any of the built-in players, and although I like the idea of keeping my machines busy I don't think it really adds much.
