I didn't get any resonse on the Quackle list. I tried cgp and Ross Brown did tell me that the "Generate Choices" are set when you choose from the "New Game". (Speedy, preferable for me). However I was unable to change that choice in the New Game menu.
Also a second question. I suddenly lost the sowpods tagging and can find no way to regain this feature. Any help with either of these two questions would be appreciated. Albert ps Most of my scrabble activity is playing sowpods on Quackle. That and Noggin on Facebook. pps Thx, Ross, for the response on cgp. ----- Original Message ----- From: Ross Brown To: [email protected] Sent: Wednesday, May 27, 2009 7:35 AM Subject: [cgp] Re: "Generate Choices" on Quackle The depth of search that a computer player does is decided at the beginning of the game in the New Game dialog - you choose the type of opponent from a list such as this: - Championship Player - Twenty Second Championship Player - Five Minute Championship Player - Speedy Player Once this is chosen, you can't change the opponent's habit, except in versions where there is a "Finish Now" button (e.g., 0.96 for Mac OS) to let you express your impatience in real-time. As for the "Ask Speedy Player for choices" menu item, you may be misreading its purpose; that's for helping *you* make choices, not a way of telling the opponent to hurry up. - Ross in Ottawa --- In [email protected], "Albert Hahn" <halber...@...> wrote: > I managed to set my Quackle game up for Speedy Player Choices. > However, I have not figured out how to do > the same for a friend's game, which was somehow set > to the longer choices, so he has to wait a while. > > Clicking on "Move" and "Ask for Speedy Player choices" > doesn't seem to help either. > [...]
