Billy.....there was GREAT division in Vietnam too,
but i was young too. But wow, i ADORE the music that came out of that
era....there's a very short song by Crosby, Stills, Nash n Young...."find the
cost of freedom, buried in the ground/mother-earth will swallow you, lay your
body down" My god, this song still sends chills through me, and poignant
words almost move me to tears...
Barak is a HEALER...we need common ground so we can
shake hands, and say, 'hey, we not agree, but we are on the same team'
peace...tony

It is amazing how people on the fringes of both sides tend to try to want
to divide this country even more than it already is. I've never seen more hate
displayed than lately. Then again, I was too young to remember too much about
the Vietnam War era. That is an interesting statement considering I will be
turning 40 on Thursday. Man am I getting old. If you're interested in Barak
Obama, here is an interesting article from the St. Petersburg Times.

I heard a Republican on a political show today
say the Demo convention was a 'convention of HATE'....just because they
disagree doesn't mean they are HATERS. Barak Asama (spelling) was the
most beautiful speaker i ever heard...he spoke about america as an idea - a
place where EVERYBODY should get a shot if your merit shines, whether you're
black, speak with accent, mixed, ugly, green or gay!! That surely
isn't anti-American or HATE...

Subject: [QUAD-L] Plan of
Attack
I finished reading Plan of Attack by Bob Woodward about two
weeks ago. For anybody who is seriously interested in why this nation went
to war in Iraq and how, this is the book to read. So far, it is the most
objective and unbiased approach to this subject. I would recommend it to
Republicans, Democrats, and Independents as well worth their time. Bob
Woodward had unbelievable access to all echelons of the current
administration and does an effective job making a rather boring subject,
to many, interesting. Contrary to what many people think, this book is not
a Bush bashing project. I personally believe it portrays President Bush in
both negative and positive ways. I understand this book is expensive,
believe me, I put my name on a waiting list and checked it out from the
library. Anyway, I thought I would pass on my thoughts.
Yours,
Billy
