Hi all. Guys, I'm sorry to say that it's official, I am off the
market. With many of you battling over the Michael Moore movie, you
missed my post telling that I was having a guy that I met online come down for
the weekend. I have been talking to him on the phone every
night for about a month. I didnât say anything because I
didn't want to jinx it. Good thing because he came down
Friday and left today. We interacted beautifully. I couldn't have
asked for a better time. Mike lives in Western PA and works as a
representative for medical equipment for doctors and therapists. He has
not ever dated a girl in a chair, but knows some things that are involved with
paralysis. I have been completely honest with him in the beginning
including the terrible pressure sore I am battling on my foot. He has
taken everything that I have said with a grain of salt. He has been
so understanding and it was confirmed with the weekends visit. We
were able to talk openly about anything that has come to our minds and what we
thought about it. We agree on just about everything and decided that we
were going to try to make it work and see where it goes. It is a 6 hour
drive here for him, but on his own, he has decided that I am worth the
drive.
My next door neighbors are just like family so it was important to me
that he interacted well with them. My friend Jenn lives there, her
husband Jason and her Mom and Dad. We got up yesterday and hung out for
a bit. Jenn and Jason asked if we wanted to go to lunch so we joined
them and Jenns mom came along as well. After Mom asked Mike if she
should introduce him to her butcher knife in the kitchen and Mike replied no,
we had a great lunch and talked about all the left over crabs we had left over
from our cookout last week. It was a unanimous decision to go home and
sit outside, having a couple of drinks while we pick the crabs when Jenn's Mom
said she would make crab cakes. We then had dinner next door and by that
time Dad was home from work. Mike fit right in with them. He kept
up with the sarcasm and he won their hearts over. Jenn's Dad doesn't do
well with boyfriends and girlfriends of family members and Mike even got his
approval so I have to say that makes me pretty happy.
I made sure that before Mike went home, I made sure that he understood
how I felt about sharing myself with him. I told him that I wasn't ready
and I didn't know when I would be but when I was ready, we will have to
discuss it and make sure it's the right time for both of us. He was very
understanding that things will be different and it will need discussion.
So now he's on his way home and said that he will go over his schedule and see
where his appointment lie and I should see him pretty soon.
After a bit over 3 years I finally have someone in my life that I can
count on. I kind of feel bad after dogging men a while back so
badly. LOL!!!, hopefully you guys will let me take back what I
said. Sorry for such a long post all, but I thought I would share
my happiness with you all.
